Why Grace in Care exists 🕊️
Our story is shaped by family, lived experience, and care
Grace in Care was created in response to the families who shaped us. Their ageing journeys taught us compassion, patience, dignity, and the importance of truly seeing the person behind every experience.
Grace in Care is dedicated to the loved ones who are the heart of why we exist

A family-led dementia service built on experience
Why Grace in Care exists
Grace in Care exists because of the families who shaped us, the mothers, fathers, grandmothers, and grandfathers whose ageing journeys taught us compassion, patience, and dignity.
Across generations, our loved ones - Colleen, Irene, Gwenda, Abe, and Molly - showed us firsthand the challenges, joys, fears, and precious moments that come with ageing and, for some, the journey of living with dementia. Through them, we learned about resilience, connection, and the love that carries families through even the most difficult times.
Their experiences taught us:
- To truly see the person, not just the diagnosis
- That families need guidance, time, and emotional support
- That living with dementia affects the whole family
- That dignity must always come first
- That connection and compassion change everything
Grace in Care exists to honour our families by caring for yours.
The families who shaped us
This section is dedicated to the loved ones who shaped the heart of Grace in Care.
Through the experiences of Colleen, Irene, Gwenda, Abe, and Molly, we witnessed the realities of ageing and dementia up close. We saw the strength it takes to care for someone you love, the uncertainty families face, and the importance of patience, understanding, and presence during difficult moments.
These experiences continue to guide how Grace in Care supports others. They remind us that dementia care is not only about services or support plans, but about relationships, identity, and treating each person with respect.
We honour our families by carrying their lessons into every interaction, every visit, and every conversation, supporting others with the same care, compassion, and dignity they taught us.
